Insurance on your Mobility Aid
Mobility aids come at a price. With the choice of multi-function mobility aids, the cost of them could go up and sometimes exceed your budget. Mobility aids may be something we cannot do without if we are afflicted by a condition which has left us immobile. We don’t want to compromise on quality, yet we all worry about the price.
Are you worried that you have invested a lot in your mobility aid? Most mobility aids are guaranteed products, but now you can also avail yourself of an extended warranty on all home mobility aids that you buy. So, your recliner chairs, stair lifts, adjustable lifts, furniture aids, kitchen aids and even bathroom aids can be covered for the unforeseen event of accidental damage. There are two types of warranties under which your mobility aids could be covered.
Remember, with your mobility aid insured, you’ll cover the mobility aid itself and also any damage incurred by a third party in an unfortunate accident. When the repairs of your mobility aid can be carried out at your home, it falls under “On-Site Warranty.” However, if due to some reasons the product needs to be shifted to a service center; it falls under “Return to Base Warranty.”
As is the case with most insurance policies, you will need to read the fine print on the insurance scheme you are purchasing. Clear all your doubts before you agree to the policy so you don’t encounter nasty surprises later.
